Just like the novel “A River Runs Through It” by Norman MacLean, and later adapted to the screen, the Detroit River is a natural geographical feature that touches all our lives on both sides of its banks. This body of water has been an inspiration for thousands of paintings. Not only beautiful to view as it passes by on its course to Lake Erie, but it also provides life, entertainment, transportation, solitude and protection.
This painting, entitled “Sculling-on-the-Detroit-River,” was completed in June 2020, is one of my latest pieces. It is the third depiction of scenes inspired by the Detroit River. This painting measurement is 14” x 28’ and is painted on 1/12-inch gallery stretched canvas. The medium is acrylic. It comes unframed, ready to be hanged as is. This painting can be yours for $400, taxes included.
